Puzzle: Pandemic Historians

This educational and playful product was created with the purpose of recognising and highlighting the narratives about the experiences of impact and recovery in life following the Covid-19 pandemic, from a group of young students at Juan XXIII School in the municipality of Marquetalia, Caldas. The comic strip chronicles the transitions in family and school life experienced by the young people during lock-down: the uncertainty generated by the media, the complexity of virtual classes, the excessive use of technology, the distance from their friends, the fear of vaccines, and the joy of returning to in-person schooling.

"Voices of recovery: photo reports from La Montañita, Caquetá"

The photo essays are the result of a co-creation work carried out with a collective of young leaders from La Montañita, Caquetá (Unión Peneya, Agua Bonita and Santuario). Through three photo essays, the young people narrated the untold stories during and after the pandemic and the recovery strategies they have carried out in their leadership journeys and in their family, territorial and community life experiences. Each essay is a journey through the territories of Unión Peneya, Agua Bonita and Santuario, an encounter with the stories of the Caquetá Amazon, lived and told by the young people.

Booklet 'Knowledge of the Garden. Medicinal Plants of ASONDEMUR'

The booklet was born from a heartfelt and creative desire to document the process of building the Community Medicinal Garden, led and organised by the women of the National Association for the Development and Entrepreneurship of Rural Women (ASONDEMUR) in the La Estrella village, Florencia, Caquetá, and the Recovery Voices project. In the pages covering each part of this booklet, readers will find a multi-voiced narrative that recounts the joint construction process of the garden, the lessons learned, difficulties and challenges, as well as the web of affectionate, caring and supportive relationships that were woven throughout the entire process.

Graphic narrative 'Tropical Fusion Association of the Amazon'

Leticia, an indigenous woman from the Uitoto people, invites us to re-create through this graphic narrative the stories of men and women from Caquetá who have survived the armed conflict in the department, who have found the strength to organise and not falter in the fight for land, the strength to continue denouncing environmental devastation and the desire to continue contributing to peacebuilding through sustainable social and economic alternatives aimed at the recovery, conservation and care of nature.

The graphic narrative was the result of a participatory and co-creative construction process with the Asociación Fusión Tropical of the Amazon in Florencia, Caquetá. The narrative highlights their associative commitment, the stories of survival and resistance they have experienced throughout their lives, and their deep conviction to contribute to peace building from an environmental justice perspective.

Infographic: "Reinventing our lives: survival experiences before, during and after the pandemic"

This infographic was created with the aim of reconstructing the recovery and survival strategies implemented by the community affected by the armed conflict in the municipality of Marquetalia - Caldas, before, during and after the pandemic, to contribute to the visibility of their organisational processes in the territory. The survivors emphasise the importance of reactivating leadership, managing training processes, strengthening collective action processes in the territory through coordinated support, enhancing sustainable productive inclusion and participation in educational processes, allowing them to continue planning for the future. Additionally, they highlight the need to recover the historical memory of the municipality and its communities to demand comprehensive reparation and guarantees of non-repetition.

Comic strips

Comics produced within the framework of the Voices in Recovery Project in co-authorship with the school communities of Flona Tapajós and Resex Tapajós-Arapiuns, in the Amazon region. The comics tell the story “Amazonia: Present, Past, Future”, addressing themes such as traditional uses of land and fire, forest degradation due to fires, and the paths towards a sustainable future. Each comic was personalised with the name of the community and the school that participated in the collective construction of the narrative, incorporating local elements and the knowledge of the people, for whom the forest is part of their daily life and their material and immaterial relationships.
